God Is

Post by Tom Watson » Sat Apr 11, 2009 9:04 am

I haven't had much as far as words to write come to me lately, but this came as what I would think is the spirit's Easter gift. Just as Christmas is a symbol of promise, to me anyway, Easter is that promise's fulfillment which magnifies the love of God and his desire for his children to come home...that is just the way God is..

God Is

No matter the cloth you dress him in;
No matter the design you give his face;
No matter the winds that lift waves beyond the sands;
No matter the war dead filling this place...

God Is
Dressed in the mists of mystery.
God is
An ethereal image of grace.
God is
The shelter beyond life's furies.
God is
Love beyond dust bound graves.

Before the Sun chased the Moon;
Before the pebbles became snow capped peaks;
Before the lake heard the calling Loon;
Before the womb brought breath to speak...

God Is
Hanger of lights surrounding this world.
God is
Potter of mountains, pourer of seas.
God is
Giver of life's music as now heard.
God is
The whisper of life flowing to eternity.

Even after grey follows the baby's fresh face;
Even after the tears and pain;
Even after brown covers the once green place;
Even after a breath is taken then never again...

God is
The rejuvenating promise.
God is
The cleanser of sorrows and hurt.
God is
The gardener of Spring's eternal mists.
God is
The victory beyond, where laughter and joy is heard.

God Is
