Saturn's Manifesto: Scene One

Saturn’s Manifesto: Scene One

No need to point out the faults of those in power.
They are doing just fine.
Making fools of themselves as they wine and dine.
No need to keep up on Rome’s mistakes.
The media has that covered.
Putting everything on display like trash T.V.
So everyone can judge and see.
No need to remind the world of its shortcomings.
There is someone who will sooner or later remind them of that.
Blood stained hands and lying tongues
seem to be acceptable amongst a society
that lets gadgets do the thinking for them.
God, what the hell ever happened to thinking for yourself?
Freedom slowly dies,
while those who need to fight
become nothing more than brain-dead zombies.
Feeding your soul with junk
will eventually make you sick.
Go ahead and destroy history.
Your future generations will just end up repeating it.
What a difference in educating yourself makes.
But I guess folks nowadays are too busy
living in their little comfortable bubbles to be bothered.
It’s sad when the only thing that brings mankind together or tears them apart is a tragedy.
And it’s even sadder
when that’s the only time anyone looks to God.
Sons and daughters are raised with no morals.
And then you wonder why children act the way they do.
Worshiping idols who don’t have an ounce of virtue.
Common sense is dead.
So is humility.
Maybe we can have a double burial.
A funeral precision for the whole world to see.
Maybe then everyone will wake up.
I still have my doubts though.
What’s that saying?
Whatever you sow you will eventually reap.
Someone should tell those not just in power but the church
that this applies to them as well.
So here’s a little sneak peak of my manifesto.
If you think I’m done
then you are sadly mistaken, my friend.
For I have only just begun.
Like the Phoenix,
I had to raise from the dead and brush myself off.
Let’s be honest,
standing on the sidelines wasn’t much fun.
Not when the world continues to go insane.
Amongst all the bull some truth needs to be spoken.
Now granted like Jeremiah,
some will think of this as nothing more
then the writings of a mad woman.
And I’m fine with that.
What I’m not fine with is everyone becoming deaf, dumb and blind
to what is going on around them.
So point your finger at me and judge
for saying enough is enough.
But answer me this, my friend
what have you done?
