You don't get a card for depression.
No sincere 'please get well soon. '
You're left alone in the dark
with no hope or spark,
and a night with no stars or moon.

When anxiety attacks, no one sees you.
No chocolate or grapes come your way.
You've put all this on,
it's all just in fun...
And actually, you're really okay.

When you go from one extreme to the other,
they all want to be you cause its cool.
But bi-polar's fine
as long as it's not mine
for they dont see the battle - the duel.

God bless you if you're schizophrenic!
For they neither understand, nor care.
You're just crazy, they say,
and lock you away
so they can pretend you we're never really there.

And those with a personality disorder?
Who work, though not quite so right...
they pretend that you're fake
and they take til you break
and then run when you just try to fight.

The thing with mental illness
is they're diseases that nobody sees.
While we fight with our mind,
you leave us behind...
bleeding, broken, and down on our knees.
