behind the obvious
borrowed and repurposed
the tried and tedious
doesn't make you a genius
any simpleton can see
thinking aloud she says
such a sad economy
a twist straightened
for fear of misdirection
the turn not taken
spirits in subjection
a crime of passion
with no hint of remorse
writ large: carte blanche
before the showhorse
easily forgotten
cry yellow sages
between stout walls
entombed in pages
iron out the obscure
remove the mystery
in a literal paradise
master of my misery.
