Dreams Discovered (repost its happening again)

I woke myself from crying ... my dreams tore me apart
I wish someone could figure out .. help these dreams depart
What it is that I was seeing .... had me shaking to the bone
It had reminded me of some times ... some bad times I have known
I could not stop the running ... I'm not as fast as in my youth
Not sure of what I was running from ... still searching for its truth
My heart was pounding so dam hard ... I could not bare to speak
I felt the weight was pushing down ... my legs had grown so weak
Why do we always revert ... to old habits and mistake?
Why does it always shine its face .. while I am not awake?
I tend to fear what s in my mind ... when I close my eyes
When they are open I can fight ... and fend off my old lies
But when I sleep my dreams discover... things I have tried to hide
I seem to erase it from my dreams .. how I am the man who tried
Am I to weak to ovecome ... these thoughts that haunt my mind?
Are these troubles in my dreams, and in my wake affined?

This is a very powerful piece. And touches home with me, as I suffer from night terrors and horrible memories. Might I suggest, rather than the ... In every line perhaps just going to the next line or consider commas. Please don't take offense, the words I wouldn't change a bit. Just so many ... Is hard on the reader.

I do understand but its kind of a signature for how I write as did poe . Thank for the comment though on the poetry I am glad you found a way to relate. We all have those nights but some many times it is impossible to describe
