Two Halfs To A Whole

Post by bags123 » Wed Feb 20, 2013 7:20 am

Two Halfs To A Whole

A poet's only half as good
If all his work's not understood
By everyone who may have read
A verse by him from where it spread
On napkins, bags, or paper plates
Epitomizing works of late...
All destined to be thrown away
Unsculpted thoughts, unmolded clay

Disposed of by the other half
That treds a more pragmatic path
Where poets rarely intervene
They're nearly never, ever, seen
But those disposed reside within
Somewhere beneath their cynics skin
Appearing when the mood is right
And pragmatism's taken flight.
I prefer to keep an open mind,....but not so much that my brains fall out.- Carl Sagan

Two halfs of a brain make a whole. It's as if you've seen inside a poet's soul! A great poem, bags

Good poem, bags.

Pardon me if
I fail to understand
I don't make sense (sometimes)
just demands.
