And so myself i tolerate

And so myself i tolerate

With myself, i'd be content
if i were, perhaps, someone else,
lost within some missed concept
of life in boxes, neat and shelved.

Or maybe if i weren't so flawed
or marked, or wrong, or misconstrued;
and life were not so open, broad,
or not as scary, or untrue.

With my dealt hand i'd be ok
if it were not too much to hold at once -
and others took their time to play
and played fair, according to the books.

But people cheat and people lie,
hold winning cards up sneaky sleeves
and just take what the hell they want
and never leave the time to grieve...

that everything that was

it's a dangerous living this... life...

Unfortunately it is all too true
I must agree reluctantly.
although it is a dismal view
of suffering humanity.
That is the true reality
The human race is flawed
things aren't as they should be.
A fact that cannot be ignored.
We choose to lie we choose to cheat
and steal what we cannot afford
Because we think we must compete
So ethics are thrown overboard.
We seek success at any price
There is no prize for second place.
The object of the exercise.
Is to be seen to win the race.

they told me it did not matter,
the winning. Just the taking part.
It scares me, the differences between
the human head and the human heart

Realization that there are no rules in life is a hard thing. We try to create them but in the end, there is nothing stopping anyone from swindling, lying, cheating their way to their perceived greatness...

Very nice
