Unlikely

Unlikely

I shudder
at the news
reported nightly
Refugees
in dungurees
looking unsightly
Huddling in the mud
somewhere
Starving
where no one
will care
Holding onto
few possessions
very tightly
And I wonder,
as I stare,
lounging in my
underware
Watching world events
unfold again
forthrightly
How each night
I'll see it more
Something personally
I deplore
Especially
when solutions seem
unlikely.

Solutions cannot be imposed
No matter what may be proposed.
The people are entitled to do
what the feel the need to do.
Although it may not suit the west
The people know their own needs best.
THey will decide eventually
who they trust to run their country.
It isn't really our business.
WE have no rights at all I guess.
Except to watch and wait and pray
as we view the news each day.
Although we are unlikely to
just wait as we ought to do

"Unlikely."

Immanuel Kant
the news is bad
our chances bleak
I hope, for once,
for an uneventful week.

Thanks Audio. Yeah Kant was a riot wasn't he? Why do we give these looneys any credibility at all? They're academics, and so far removed from the everyday life most of us experience,...that I'm surprised their philosopies have been given any credence at all.
