In my humble opinion

In my humble opinion

You will never see my tears, you will never see my pain
You may bump into me, in the streets, and never know my name

I agree with you on one thing, our differences are great
I’m a believer in love and not in hate

I love seeing the good in all
I love that I have the strength to get up when I fall

I love the fact that life has not made me cynical and bitter
I love the fact I am adjusted to british winter

I love the opportunity for a new life without fear
I love the kindness of strangers, I have felt while I’ve been here

So after careful consideration, about verse two
There isn’t really any difference between me and you

In all off us is goodness, and not so good, for sure
Some we welcome, others we show the door

Who am I to say I am a better person
We all act in certain ways for a reason

Excuse me for my outburst
Excuse me for thinking the worst

We should all have a little understanding, that includes me
So while I’m here, I won’t waste my opportunity

To see what makes Britain so great
To learn about a new culture, I can’t wait

So far I know about your love of sharing woes over a cuppa tea
Your love of soaps on tv
Sunday roasts and cozy nights spent indoors
Clubbing together, during periods when your poor

Old fashioned values and heritage
Liberal minded, live and let live

As a visitor, I see with fresh pair of eyes
What I see, I love, and can never despise

Time is all it will take for adjustments from us all
Over time our differences, will be minuscule
Britains cuisine includes pizza and curry
You encompass new cultures, slowly, not in a flurry

How many countries have equal amount of churches, mosques and temples?
A melting pot, you see, full of the sane and the mental

So may I express my gratitude while I get the chance
And if I may be so bold, request a second glance

What a great write!! You some up the British brilliantly. Are we all so sad as to drinking tea and watching soaps? This piece brought a smile to my face.
Take care, Chris.
