ADAEZE

Blooming grace
With well – proportioned shape
And beautiful face
A lovely apparition
Dusky hair
Eyes like stars of twilight fair
So quietly your beauty usurp
And preyed my unwilling resistance
See how everyone shrouds
And strew your way with
Chaplets and flowers
Your beauty invigorates
Impoverish souls
And makes the poverty
Of language unable to express your due praise
Yet again and again
Mortals and their eloquence
In silence
Still find ways to sing your graceful praise
And the words that have not been spoken of you
Are the words that truly make you
As the only heir apparent
You have infused so much
Dignity and self -discipline in your bosom
To reap a glory as great as
Your present sacrifices to self- nobility
Beauty and youth are all yours
And your cheeks unprofaned to shed tears
Only the happy melancholy
That you are your own sibling
You have troubled my heart
And I desire your presence
Like the hard earth’s crust yearns for water
In the neighborhood
Where you make
Sweet entrances and exits
I do peep to glimpse to enjoy your very sight
Your ardent smile
So full of life
Of animation and vivacity
Knew you in the days of your childhood
Pray to love you in this day of my adulthood
With your rigid look and chaste austerity
Noble grace and no brute violence
You have been able to keep many hawks away
From your adorned self
I want to glow in your propitious light
I desire to make you my eternal bride
And never wish to leave your unspotted side
