Acorns Weep

Post by cusick » Mon Apr 27, 2009 1:21 am

Orphaned acorns weep
to see their abode littering
forest glade,
lanced thought the heart
by natures sigh.
Birds desperately seeking
new habitat, as their once happy
homes now adorn ancient barrows
exhumed by neglect.
Sad, thin faced squirrels
frantically dig for winters stash
buried deep beneath pandemonium.
Sitting by the window gazing into
deep void where once stood
timeless mighty oak
my heart aches listening to scattering winds
moaning angrily through eaves.
How much can I get away with and still go to heaven.
