It's raining and has been all week ... and is supposed to continue through the weekend. But the rain broke the August heat and temps have been moderate.

I just never understood why they would slip out onto the sidewalk -- even to escape the rainwater -- because the concrete had to feel hotter than the earth. The pudgy earthworms
inched onto the sidewalk
