There Was Blue

There was blue – like the midnight sky as it draped beneath the full moon, deep sapphire, nearly violet, darkening to black as it fell to earth. There was blue – like the sun kissed waves as they caressed silken, bleached sands, cerulean waters, sparkling in their sensual dance to Helios above. Ther...

Re: Raped, Beaten and Baking Cookies

And when women finally do stand up, we're simply called bitc*es. What saddens me even more, is that women so often don't support each other. We need to stop doing cruelties to each other. We should stand together, support each other, find strength among ourselves. Because of what women endure, we ar...

Awakening Love

The house sleeps. Its sounds lure me to join with their siren song of slumber. The warm bed hugs me with its softness, entices me back to my dreams. He sighs. I push Somnus away to listen to my lover’s night breaths. He sleeps, this man who shares my bed, and so much of himself with me. I watch him....

Re: The Surgeon General's Got Nothing On You

My mother smoked for many years and yet her lungs were clear when she died at nearly 80. However, my ex-husband's grandfather developed emphysema at a fairly early age due to his smoking and died a very painful death. Perhaps some folks are predisposed to have health problems if they smoke while oth...

Re: A Principle of Design

Floetry -- this is wonderful. I love the linking of poetry and cryptography and the remarkable descriptions like:
the interwoven complexities
of a napkin poem
scribbled on a bathroom stall
within the loose leaf walls
of a margin
Brilliant!

I don't know about stats ... but judging from the men my oldest daughter is always drawn to ... Gordy's stats may be right on. Capable men who simply love to live off women. Always got some excuse as to why they keep losing jobs ... makes me amazed I've been employed for the past 35 years.

Thank you -- I'm so happy that it nearly scares me. This is the man I've waited for all my life. I can't believe he's in my life now. And that he feels the same about me. Ah, I love this man!!
