Re: One Day

Yes! you're right. That's when the "colors" are at their most spectacular...even in the dark!

Re: One Day

More than a sense of season it left me with a sense of passing. That seems to be how the feelings align to any painting or verbal vision of autumn or winter.
Beautifully expressed!

Re: Seasons Letter

I'm glad Heinzs retrieved this poem. It's beautiful, the rhymes are flawless along with its expression. To be blunt there are very few who can gather ideas make them poetic and invest it with seamless rhyme. My compliments!

It seems strange how the best ones always get lost!

Re: Hunting Mercy

The poem, its subject and expression, is as unique as its title. Not too many like this around for sure. But I don't believe you can apply for mercy yourself simply by refusing to kill something because the opportunity exists. Leaving the scene with a conscience that won't crucify you is mercy enough.

...this is why I never read or listen to reporters or analysts. I never know what they're talking about! I only know I'm always right in my opinion because I always accept the most recent one.

Re: The Power Of Now

It never ceases to amaze me how the better more exceptional poems so often remain unresponded to while the more sentimental ones are generally slobbered all over. I once wrote a slobbering poem! It was slobbered to death and consequently shredded it. But had I written this it would definitely have b...

Re: Open Heart Poetry

Having subscribed a few days ago I didn't think it appropriate to immediately submit poetry...or any unreasonable facsimile thereof so soon! I thought just to make comments for now especially on poems I like...which means there's some more on the way and remain lily-livered for at least another mont...

Re: Open Heart Poetry

I agree but only insofar as these tribulations encompass all life subject to its acceptances and rejections not just artists however mediocre or great. The artist or writer is not in a unique position regarding pain. He is just more prone to receiving it because output becomes public and therefore s...

Re: Open Heart Poetry

Neat analogies. But to be blunt poets and artists in order to keep doing are usually enclosed in alligator skins so that open heart vivisection would be very difficult to perform especially by members of there own craft. You have to be immune to opinion but know when to accept it...without of course...

It would not be inappropriate for this poem, among others, to be read in front of those who gather to remember.

Re: A Poet Learns To Be Unread

Hi Bags! I'm new here and don't know much about poetry...but I can tell when something is well written and this is surely a very well written Shakespearean sonnet. As for being unread, I guess that's the reason we join poetry or philosophy forums so we may be read once before being relegated to the ...
