Re: Civilization peaks and valleys

The latin root or original form of the word religion is religare which means to bind to or be bound to something. While I have investigated several belief systems and respect their positive contributions to the current paradigm; I cannot find a reason to 'bind' myself to any of them to the exclusion...

Re: Charlie Hebdo

Didn't realise you had a Santa fetish, Mike, so as a way of apologising, next year I will wear red felt and black rubber while whipping some captive creatures until their noses and other extremities become bright red. I am also in the process of inventing a automated sand in the butt crack remover, ...

Charlie Hebdo

When mass hysteria is taught to impressionable borderline schizophrenics the result is sociopathic behavior like the attacks in Paris. The urge to murder isn't the result of offending such delusional psychopaths but in enabling the idea that preposterous concepts such as a God whose ego can't handle...

Re: Holiday Decoration Safety

Still using incandescent bulbs in some areas but seldom worry about the fire hazard as the people I have running the bicycle generators seldom over heat the wires and they actually pay me a health club membership fee for the privilege of powering my home. One of the artistic effects of bicycle gener...

Re: Christmas Dinner

Don't give a rat's patoot what the rest of the world thinks Mike. Our ancestors didn't either and that's why they left for a fresh start. Apparently around 100 Canadians have foresworn their Canadian citizenship to join their brother lemmings in Iraq and Syria. Their savage methods have removed them...

Re: Christmas Dinner

Lost the receipt for my prime rib, Mike but the strip loin I will cut for steaks was $33.05 Cdn. a Kg or around $15.00 Cdn. a pound. Also have a tasty cooked 1/2 portion Chinese duck and some Chinese BBQ Pork from T&T Market (bought 2 of each because I can't resist a taste before I reach home). T&T ...

Re: Christmas Dinner

Hey Mike, too true about Prime Rib. That's why I normally favor a Baron of Beef for informal gatherings. Easy to spice and slice into warm French bread with a side of beef dip, next to garnishes of onions, horseradish or mustard for those who want them. That's part of my recipe for New Years day and...

Re: Christmas Dinner

By strange coincidence, I'm having au jus prime rib, baked tater and Yorkshire pudding for Xmas dinner as well. Never liked turkey all that much except for the breast meat and stuffing; mostly s3rved cold in sandwiches along with a bit of cranberry and some mayo; the rest of the dinosaur is/was a co...
