That's a hope. We don't have the option of "sooner or later". There's an expiry date on everything.Eternum 1 wrote:Hey Mike:

Shades of Soylent Green. I thought only the Chinese did these kind of things. If true, it tells much of what one needs to know about "Modern Times." It seems it's not just dog-eat-dog anymore! Aren't humans lovely but what the hell, business is business.

The cop who shot 26 dogs and obviously likes doing it should be torn apart by a pack. If I had my way, that's exactly what I'd arrange. Spray him with blood and throw him in a pit.

Re: Civilization peaks and valleys
Hello Bags! I think Carl was exagerating too about a moon landing happening so soon but he did over do it a couple of times, one incident was expecially - and there is no other word for it - stupid. But who knows considering the progress made just during the last 150 years how soon things may have h...

Re: Civilization peaks and valleys
When Rome fell, Europe was thrown into almost a 1000 year period of ignorance, and barbarity, before things started to get a little better in the Rennaisance. Look at the rate of our technological progress (?) just in the last 20 years? Can you imagine 1000 years of nothing changing, except maybe t...

Re: Charlie Hebdo
Behave like adults and put away childish fantasies about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and God/Yahweh/Allah; start behaving like a rational cognizant species with the fleeting possibility of one day exploring and understanding the beauty of the cosmos. Well expressed! I couldn't agree more. Not any...

Why just the other night I was sitting there,... eating dinner with my wife,... watching CNN,...and I said " Why doesn't somebody do something"? Yeah,...I was mad too. Forget what it was about now,...but it made me get right up off my seat and hollar! I almost spilled my glass of Cabernet Sauvignon...

Re: So I've decided to take up motorcycling
I've only been on my bike twice this year. Once to get it inspected, and one other mountain ride. I find I just don't have the time anymore. Anyone want to buy a 2002 Kawasaki Meanstreak,...vance and hines straight shots, and an air kit. Only 3800 miles. Oil changed every year with Mobil 1. It's li...

Could be! After all we're already making war on planet Earth and and thoroughly on route to draining all of its resources...after which we'll all go back home!

You're still the best poet on the site Bags. Many of the subjects which you write about used to interest me as well...but I can still relate.

Hello ET, I agree with most of what you said especially in reference to being "no longer optimistic that anything will substantially change before disaster strikes". I have no doubt we're working toward that very scenario and that afterwards we''ll cry profusely looking for those to blame as in all ...

I've known about this film for quite some time. Watching the aerials on a big screen is amazing. But it's also painful to watch, at least for me, thinking that this will only be a memory on film in the not too distant future.
