Years (Reposted)

Years An ocean of years, a river of fears, a lake of tears, love's debt in arrears. Waves on a rocky shore, hearts primed to desire more, days delightful to explore, nights to embrace and adore. Monolithic duet reminding not to forget what we'll always regret, each year's fading vignette. The days o...

Pearls

Pearls Our days are like a string of pearls, each lustrous gem strung by hand, nature's imperfect beauty conceived around a grain of sand. A grain a day through narrow glass, time's gift to each loving heart, a pearl in the string of memories, a gleaming necklace of life's art. And as the string gro...

Re: Cosmic Debris

As Forest Gump would say, adolescence is as adolescence does. Kind of pathetic, really.

Cosmic Debris

Cosmic Debris When souls contend does each depend on delivering cuts that may never mend? When hearts offend do each then defend their hurtful slings to the bitter end? When words betray, do they each defray the heavy costs of one heart's dismay? When hearts collide does each then divide like cosmic...

The Dance

The Dance

One swift step forward
and then a slow one back,
then two to the side,
swaying to the beat,
whistling in the dark.

Round and round we go
sometimes touching, never close,
concealing, revealing,
congealing the hope
that never had a chance.

Always

Always Always there, never gone, trembling in the midnight sun, our long cold summer begun. Relentless as the desert sand, no well of forgiveness at hand, Saharan thirst, dry bitter land. Memories as cold as ice, never to slake, only suffice to tease and ever entice. Confusing thoughts, never gone, ...

Well, I'm honestly stunned! That wasn't my purpose in announcing its publication. But I do very much appreciate your interest. Thank you!

Re: March's Winds

I don't recall reading such a well-conceived presentation of the proverbial Lion.

"As what once were soft moans became cries
As destroyed leaves began to cover the ground"

Now that is great writing from the mind's eye. Well done!

Consequences

Consequences We met so many years ago. I wrote a thousand words, in a hundred poems and letters now tucked away, forgotten in her cardboard box. I should have learned how to coil up in a ball and sleep alone at night under the distant stars. I might have learned from the frustrations of remote affec...

Truth

Truth Conjecture defies reality so we jump from conclusion to conclusion. Confusion defies clarity so we jump from opacity to opacity. Faith defies reality so we jump from miracle to miracle. Intolerance defies sufferance so we jump from stereotype to stereotype. Arrogance defies humility so we jump...

Re: A Poet's Prayer

Signed the contract today. A poet that I have known and corresponded with for several years and her husband own a publishing company. They also run a web site that features a "Guest Poet" page. Many of my poems are posted there. They contacted me with an offer to publish at no cost to me. How could ...
