Re: Glorified Fathers and Condemned Mothers!

Very creative, Dema! I have read this piece several times, basking in the many images – enjoying the symbolism while simply taking in the vibe, too. Tell me, what inspired this offering? The first strophe is the most touching – for me. <3

Ah! Congratulations to your entire family, bags. The happiest days are when babies come - and a possible Scorpio child to boot? Ha ha. You are blessed. :thewave:

Re: Opening Doors

Lovely rhyming scheme, Moushka. The poem seems to describe a heartfelt epiphany; cleanly and concisely expressed - pithy, no fluff. Nicely done. Keep writing!

Re: Literature of War

Dema, I did not fully understand this piece - meaning it did not resonate with me - BUT - I sense passion here, and respect that. Well done. I feel perhaps it contains allusions to Christianity and a message of righteousness. No?

Re: Be-all

Reads like a song, heartfelt lyrics. I enjoyed these lines best : "Judgement is collateral, Plain and simple". Thanks for sharing - :hello:

Re: The Circle

Really lovely Bags. :-) I recently visited my mother with my own kids, and was able to see my brothers, invalid grandmother, etc - whom I have not spent time with in some years. The circle of love felt very present then, and while tucking my children into bed with my mom in the room I asked them, "D...

Re: What can we do to improve PoetryPages attendance?

It saddens me deeply at times to realize the 'golden years' of poetry boards may be behind us; yet, I am also profoundly grateful for the years we had. Oh how I miss enjoying and sharing poetry online! Such wonderful connections is cyberspace - exciting, honest conversations - true depth. What a pri...

Re: Do The Pages Poets Pay Attention to American Politics

lol - I would vote for you, Lady! My husband recorded the debate, then watched it today while I was out with my daughter on a school field trip. When I got home, I said, "Is it worth watching?" He shrugged. He DID say that at least Romney redeemed himself in that he did not appear to be a lost cause...

Re: Do The Pages Poets Pay Attention to American Politics

Usually, yes. I generally always vote, too - even though I feel we can and should come up with a better (more fair) process. I also generally watch every debate. This year is different, however. Different because I am not living in the USA these days - and also because I am in my 40s now. Takes more...

Re: Who all is still here?

It's funny, but maybe once a year I think, "Hmmm. I wonder if Poetry Pages is still up.". Then I check, and sure enough not only is it still here, but generally someone has just posted a thread like this one! Ha ha. Maybe my subconscious hears the question and comes to answer. I am sort of he...

Envoys

Envoys Doting faces drift near; their luster less brilliant, year after year – Love-speak on word-clouds; envoys extraordinaire! You in masks - pithy disguises. Send no more endearments through heralds less kind - You! You! You! Please, I beg wildly; leave pretense behind. God. God. God. God. God. G...

Poems rescued from cold storage: It's All the Same to Me Life curtsied low, left a rose – strolling past, I watched it die. Petals do conceal their thorns; but I know flowers lie. Death bowed for me, left a weed – deliberately, I took the bait. Ugly roots display the truth; ther...
